Let's find a name for the Project
Allright then, let's go with "Virtualbricks", at least for the project, to get it up and running? I'm not as enthusisastic about it as you, but i like it. - rainer
I vote for Virtualbricks - I like Virtus and Virtualface too though. And NubE for the intriguing group. - simone
Prof. Caini prefers a meaningful name or alternatively a completely fancy name. (Simone) - also he suggested to avoid "simu" or "emu" in the name to avoid confusion, since in our research we use to differentiate the virtualization approach from simu/emu-lation. -daniele
Virtualbricks - is absolutely the best one ever. You all certainly agree about that. -daniele.
I like "Virtus" - rainer
I like "Virtualface" - francesco
I'm trying to search an intriguing word. People like "exotic" words, especially words ending with a vowel like in Italian or often in Japanese (see "Netsukuku" for example). The typical user of this software will not be an "housewife", more probably will be some sort of nerd; so some complexities in its name would help to be attractive.
I'll probably legally prosecute against Virtuoso team because of my moral damages when Francesco found this name was already taken. :-D
These words can be useful to find a possible combination.
[English]
Canvas, Lattice, Net (expectable)
[Latin]
Nube (Cloud), Nebulusus (Cloudy), Nubecula (Small cloud), Vir (Man), Viri, Retiacula/Retiaculis (Net), Virtuosus (Virtuoso), Virtus (Virtù).
[Japanese]
Koshi (Net), Kasu (Virtual), Kurado (Cloud).
[Italian]
Virtù, Connesso, Emula.
[Possible project names]
NubEmulator? or NubE. In English sounds like New-Be (For sure it's a good name for a new social network :-) ) " Virtù ". Sounds like Virt-U. The accent may be a problem in some cultures though. Kurado, Qurado (it conserve the original Q), VirtualK(urado) (sounds like Virtual Key), ...
Previous names are also perfectly acceptable: Virtualcluster, Virtualclouds, Virtualface (it's like virtual-interface), Qemuspider, Qemuclouds, Qemucluster, Qemucarpet, Qemuherd, Qemuflock, Qemufleet.
We can also think about using an acronym then we'll justify it. - Simone
